Digital & AI transformation

Digital transformation—without the transformation program.

Digital and AI transformation consulting for agencies, colleges, credit unions and health systems—delivered phase by phase from Missoula, Montana.

We don't sell transformation programs. We sell phases, each tied to a number you already report—and the transformation is what it looks like a year later.

  • Phased, never big-bang
  • Sized to your budget cycle
  • Humans decide, always

What we believe in

Transformation isn't a program you buy. It's the sum of phases that each moved a number.

What changes

A mandate you can fund one phase at a time

Turn the mandate into phases
A line in the strategic plan becomes a sequenced scope you can fund, staff and report on.
Tie every phase to a number
Cycle time, backlog, cost per case, efficiency ratio or yield: one metric you already report, baselined first.
Report in the board's language
Progress shows up as movement on the numbers leadership already reads, not a deck of activity.
Keep the lights on
Nothing big-bang. Today's systems keep running while each phase lands beside them.

The program is the risk—not the technology.

A transformation program promises value at the end of a multi-year roadmap. A phase has to show it before the next one is funded.

Transformation program

  • A multi-year roadmap and a steering committee
  • Value promised at the end
  • Scope shaped by the vendor, then by change orders
  • Adoption left to “change management”

Phased capacity

  • One constraint per phase, sized to your budget cycle
  • Each phase moves a number before the next is funded
  • You own the workflows, the data and the code
  • Training and adoption inside every phase

// the mandate, phase by phase

From mandate to measured result

AI reads, drafts and routes. Your people decide. Every phase reports the number it was funded to move.

Who We Help

Leaders holding a mandate to modernize, including:

  • county and city agencies
  • state programs, boards and commissions
  • colleges, universities and K-12 districts
  • credit unions and community banks
  • clinics and health systems
  • nonprofits with grant-funded mandates
  • mid-size companies whose board asked for an AI plan

If your strategic plan says “digital transformation”, we'll scope it as phases you can fund one at a time.

// governance by design

Built for oversight, audit and public trust

The controls boards, auditors and regulators expect, in place from the first phase.

Security designed to your requirements

Least-privilege access, encryption and data handling built to the rules you operate under.

Accountable & auditable

Every automated action is logged and reviewable, so oversight doesn't depend on anyone's memory.

Humans in control

AI reads, drafts and routes. Your staff approve every decision that matters.

Fits your budget cycle

Phases sized to fiscal years, grant periods and purchasing thresholds, so funding follows results.

How We Work

Blueprint
Map the mandate to constraints, phases and metrics
We turn the mandate into the few constraints that actually set your pace, then sequence them into phases you can fund.

What we map

  • The mandate, the plan and what the board expects to see
  • Cycle times, backlogs and handoffs across teams
  • Systems you keep, and systems a phase should replace
  • The baseline for each metric a phase will move

What you get

  • Phases with owners, sequencing and one metric each
  • A budget shape that fits your funding cycle
  • Tooling recommendations (keep / improve / replace)
  • A plan your leadership can take to the board
Phased delivery
Ship one phase at a time
Each phase lands working software and changed workflows, then reports the number it was funded to move.

Each phase includes

  • Workflow design and standards
  • Integration with the systems you keep
  • Automation and AI where it's safe and useful
  • Training and adoption inside the phase
  • A dashboard of the metric the phase was funded to move

The Blueprint is a fixed fee, credited in full against your first delivery phase. See pricing

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between digital transformation and what you do?

Digital transformation usually names the destination: modern systems, digital services, data you can act on. We deliver the route, one phase at a time. Each phase removes one constraint and moves one number you already report. We call the method Capacity Engineering™.

Is AI transformation different from digital transformation?

It's the newest layer of the same work: AI inside the workflows where it reads, drafts, routes and summarizes, with people approving the result. We treat it as part of each phase, not as a separate program with its own budget line.

What does business transformation mean here?

Business transformation is the wider change in how an organization works: roles, processes, decision rights. We work on the operational slice of it, the workflows, tooling and AI that change what your team can carry, and we measure it phase by phase.

How does this fit our procurement and budget cycle?

We scope the work into phases that fit your budget cycle, grant funding and procurement requirements, so you can start small, show the result and expand.

How do we report progress to our board or council?

Each phase is funded against one metric you already report, with its baseline set in the Blueprint. Progress is that number moving, on a dashboard your team keeps.

Do we have to replace our core systems?

No. We integrate and automate around the systems you keep (core, ERP, EHR, records) and replace only what a phase shows is holding you back.

Is the AI safe for regulated or public data?

We design to your security and compliance requirements: least-privilege access, encryption, data residency and audit trails. AI works inside approved rules, and your staff makes every decision.

What does it cost?

The Blueprint is a fixed fee—from $1,000, typically up to around $10,000 depending on scope—and it is credited in full against your first delivery phase. Delivery is then scoped phase by phase, never an open-ended retainer. Before the Blueprint, the Constraint Call and the Capacity Session are free.
